Urban Midwifery is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that was formed in 2008 with the goals of :


* Providing culturally competent and relevant midwifery services to ALL pregnant women and their families in "underserved" communities, but particularly Black Women who are disproportionately affected by high infant mortality rates.

* Educating and empowering women and girls in their childbearing years through educational workshops, guides, books and classes about:

  • Puberty
  • Sex Education
  • Pregnancy & Childbirth
  • Parenting
  • Family planning

* Addressing & Improving infant mortality in the black community

* Educating and Empowering incarcerated women through self improvement courses, mentoring, counseling, and women's health services.
